Legendary Service

Legendary Service — Mundelein, Des Plaines, and the North Shore — is preparing its Hydra OS cutover, and owner Joe Zimmer has published the full Hands Up letter in his own words: after years of marketing promises with no real direction, he wanted a partner already building for where marketing was going.

Legendary Service is Joe Zimmer and Sean Bucci's family-owned HVAC and plumbing company serving Mundelein, Des Plaines, Lake County, Cook County, and the North Shore. The current public site at legendaryservice.com, developed by KickCharge Creative, carries the black-and-gold Legendary brand, the bull mark, and the broad service promise across heating, cooling, plumbing, drain cleaning, indoor air quality, maintenance agreements, promotions, reviews, and educational blog content.

The new Hydra OS staging site keeps the premium Legendary identity but changes the operating model underneath it. Instead of a traditional WordPress stack, the staged build is structured around answer-first service content, local market coverage, upfront flat-rate pricing, maintenance plans, financing, second-opinion conversion paths, and the 'People are the Product' positioning that came through in discovery.

Joe's full letter — “The Kind of Partner Every Business Should Be Looking For” — now leads this page and is featured in Hands Up. Thirty years in plumbing, a 2008 company, a 2022 rebrand into HVAC, and a clear line about what he would not settle for again: marketing companies that said Google takes time, spend more money, and just keep waiting.

The relationship story still sits beside the letter. Joe drove three hours to see Jennifer Bagley keynote for a distributor because he wanted to meet Mike Hicklen, Clay Howard, and Jennifer before making the decision. He sat in the front row, listened, and evaluated the people behind the promise. His earlier customer-care line still belongs in the record too: “CI Web Group is taking care of their customers. Very few companies would do that for their customers. Great job, CI Web!”

That is why this publishes as a featured-customer prep story with the Hands Up letter already live. The site is staged, the current KickCharge Creative-developed site is still the live before state, and the Hydra OS build is ready to be presented as the next chapter without pretending there are post-launch metrics yet.

Every page ships with structured brand intelligence built in, so Google and AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini can verify exactly what the business does — and new pages are submitted for indexing the moment they go live, not weeks later. It's all built on Hydra OS: a database-free architecture that's dramatically faster and harder to hack than a traditional WordPress site, with an intelligence layer that keeps it optimizing itself.

From the founder’s desk

The Kind of Partner Every Business Should Be Looking For

My name is Joe Zimmer, and I've been in the plumbing industry for over 30 years. I started my own plumbing company in 2008, and in 2022 we rebranded as Legendary Service and expanded into heating and cooling.

Like a lot of business owners, we've worked with several marketing companies over the years. Every time we switched, we heard the same things. "Google takes time." "You need to spend more money." "Just keep waiting." It felt like we were getting a lot of promises but not a lot of real direction. We wanted a company that was thinking about where marketing was going, not just where it had been.

As AI started changing search, websites, and the way customers find businesses, I realized this wasn't something that was years away. It was happening right in front of us. I had been following Jen and what she was doing with CI Web Group, and I could see she understood where things were headed. She wasn't chasing trends. She was already building for them.

After going through multiple marketing companies, we knew it was time to make a change. Looking back, it was the right decision.

Jen and her team have been great to work with. They communicate with us, keep us informed about what's changing, and explain what those changes mean for our business. Technology moves fast, especially with AI, and it gives me confidence knowing they're paying attention to it every day.

The website they built for us looks incredible. It's still being finalized, but we're already excited about where it's headed. What impressed me the most was how much time they spent learning about our company before they ever started building. They asked a lot of questions, gathered a lot of information, and really wanted to understand who we are and how we do business. That made the entire process smoother than any website project we'd been through before.

One thing I've learned over the years is that your website isn't something you build once and forget about anymore. It has to keep evolving. Search is changing. AI is changing. Customer behavior is changing. You need a team that's willing to change with it.

That's why we chose CI Web Group. They're always learning, always adapting, and always looking ahead. To me, that's the kind of partner every business should be looking for.
