# Cortex

Cortex™ is CI Web Group's content-and-optimization AI engine — the second named platform layer alongside [Hydra OS](./hydra-os.md) and [Synapse](./synapse.md). Cortex is a trades-trained model, continuously fine-tuned on the brand, service area, and 20 years of CI Web Group playbooks, that researches demand, writes and validates content, builds schema, and optimizes for [SEO](../strategy/seo.md), [AEO](../strategy/aeo.md), and [GEO](../strategy/geo.md) every day.

## The Cortex pipeline

Cortex operates as a five-stage AI-agent pipeline:

1. **CORTEX-R1 — AI research agents.** Analyze demand, competitors, and SERP shape per market.
2. **CORTEX-W1 — Content generation.** Draft answer-first, question-shaped content with schema.
3. **CORTEX-QA — Expert review.** Human trades-marketing experts validate voice, claims, and offers.
4. **CORTEX-DIST — Multi-channel distribution.** Publish, index, and syndicate.
5. **CORTEX-OPT — Performance optimization.** Measure, iterate, re-optimize.
